Parks, Recreation and Community

The City of Evans is proud to offer a great deal of park amenities, recreation program offerings, and facility rentals for any occasion. 

Parks

The City boasts parks amenities of all kinds, including playgrounds, softball/baseball fields, athletic fields, pavilions, basketball courts, tennis courts, sand volleyball courts, horseshoe pits, disc golf, ponds, walking trails, and climbing walls. We have the off-leash Freedom Dog Park which includes modern agility components. The brand new DaVinci Park (opened in August 2024) includes a one-of-a-kind pump track for bicycles, scooters, roller skates and the like. Several of our parks are equipped with permanent, indoor restroom facilities and our City Parks Maintenance staff work year-round to keep the parks looking pristine, free of litter and ready to be enjoyed by all. 

Recreation

The City of Evans Recreation team is proud to offer a whole host of sports, recreation, and exercise activities for residents of all ages and abilities. Our Youth Sports leagues include offerings for children from Kindergarten through 8th grade to compete in soccer, basketball, volleyball, flag football and baseball and softball leagues for all age/ability levels including tee-ball, coach-pitch and co-ed leagues. For youngsters aged 9 to 12, we have added beginning lyrical dance and beginning jazz. 

For active adults, Evans Recreation offers fitness classes including Zuma, circuit training, fitness fundamentals and newly available adult ballet classes. Our indoor gymnasium offers opportunities for anyone and everyone to shoot some hoops, spike a volleyball and get active with latest fitness craze, pickleball. The recreation center, which includes locker rooms with showers, offers the full assortment of weight room and cardio equipment.

Evans Recreation also administers the Evans Senior Center which includes events and gatherings year round geared towards our golden age residents. The bi-weekly senior lunches provide not only the chance to get a hot meal but a great opportunity to enjoy the kinship of like-aged residents. The Evans Senior programs also provide opportunities to take trips and explore our state and region with outings sprinkled throughout the year to destinations both in and out of state. 

Facility Rentals

If you would like to make use of some of our space for you next big event - a birthday, religious celebration, wedding, retirement party, baby shower, business conference or anything else - we have a lot to offer. We have spaces both indoors and outdoors and will help with setup and take down, helping take the stress out of the event and allow you and family, friends, colleagues and clients to enjoy their time without any hassle. 

Events

Throughout the year, Evans Recreation takes the lead in offering a number of community events for friends and neighbors to gather and celebrate our diverse, dynamic, growing community. Reconnect with old friends and make new ones, put smiles on the faces of your children and enjoy Evans with events including the Easter Eggstravganza, City of Evans Charity Golf Tournament, Heritage Day, Trick or Treat Trail, and Holiday Glow & Explore
