Evans Police Chief Recruitment Opens

The Evans Police Department is currently recruiting for a new Chief of Police. Former Police Chief Rick Brandt retired from the force effective March 1, 2025. The City has partnered with Strategic Government Resources to assist in the recruiting effort. 

Required qualifications include:

Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, law enforcement, criminology, public administration, or related field
Minimum of ten (10) years of law enforcement experience, with at least five (5) years at the rank of lieutenant or higher
Valid Colorado driver’s license or ability to obtain within six months of hire
Possess a Colorado Peace Officer Standards and Training (P.O.S.T) certification or obtain within 12 months of employment.
Preferred qualifications include:

Bilingual in English and Spanish
Experience in the public/municipal sector
Master’s degree in a related field
Completion of FBI National Academy, Northwestern School of Police Staff & Command, or equivalent high-level police leadership training
The salary for this position is $143,614 - $201,060 DOE/DOQ.
