City Council Approves Hunter's Reserve Park Project

EVANS CITY COUNCIL APPROVES CONTRACT TO DEVELOP HUNTER’S RESERVE PARK

In what marks another significant step in achieving the goal of making Evans the community of choice in Northern Colorado, at the regular Evans City Council Meeting on March 18, unanimous approval was given to contract with BrightView Landscape Development, Inc. to develop what is currently an empty field into an exciting new park space right in the heart of the City. Planning for this project began nearly a year ago and the City is grateful to our partners at BrightView for submitting a magnificent design for this brand new park space that will be enjoyed for generations to come!

The Hunter’s Reserve Park, a four-acre site located on 29th Avenue and Park View Drive will include a walking trail, playground structure, nature play amenity, a picnic shelter, trees, a large open lawn space and benches. Two acres of the roughly four-acre site will be developed as part of this project while the remaining space will continue to serve as a retention pond for the City’s stormwater infrastructure.

Using the dedicated reserves of the Park Impact Fund, this brilliant new addition to the Evans Parks System was designed and will be developed without using any General Fund monies.

The City of Evans is so excited for this latest edition to our expanding parks offerings to will provide more outdoor space where our community can celebrate and enjoy their shared American heritage. The current plans have work on the project beginning this May with a targeted completion by the end of August.
