Hydrant Flushing may result in discolored tap water

As an alert to residents, the Evans Fire Protection District and the City of Evans Operations staff are working to flush out the City's fire hydrant network. This is a routine procedure that is done annually and may result in a little bit of mineral sediment in your tap water. The water may appear discolored but it is PERFECTLY SAFE to drink and use. To clear out the brownish-colored water, simply run your cold water (NOT you hot water) for a few seconds to clear out the mineral sediment.
