On April 29, 2024, the City of Evans started construction on the next phase of the 37^th Street widening project. The construction will extend from Sienna Avenue on the west to Stampede Drive on the east and transitioning back to the existing roadway east of Stampede Drive. Atmos Energy will also be working in the project area, relocating some existing gas lines to accommodate the road widening at the start of the project, this will result in full closure of the road while this work is on-going. The detour route will send drivers to U.S. 34 on the north or 49^th Street on the south. 

Construction is expected to last through September so we ask your patience when driving in the cone zone.
