The Evans Police Department is teaming up with area Law Enforcement agencies to raise money for Special Olympics Colorado in the annual Law Enforcement Torch Run.  This Weld County-wide marathon will take place on Wednesday, May 31st and feature multiple agencies throughout the county. The race kicks off near I-25, where the Frederick Police Department will begin jogging with the Special Olympics Torch before the sun rises at 4am. Several departments will follow their lead by running with the torch throughout the morning.  The Evans Police Department is slated to receive the flame from the Greeley Police Department around 10 am and run 2.5 miles before passing it to the University of Northern Colorado Police.
