About the Evans Cemetery
The City of Evans Cemetery, located at the intersection of Highway 34 and 11th Avenue, has been owned and operated by the City since the early 1860s. Some residents said they have heard that the cemetery was known as Boot Hill, but others said they have always heard it called Evans. The town records were destroyed by fire in 1903 and 1937. In 1911, vandals entered the cemetery and destroyed 20 of the finest tombstones. In the 1950s, Mr. Henry Behrens, a native and long time business man of Evans, left part of his estate to the cemetery for care and upkeep.

The Evans Cemetery is open daily during daylight hours.
Cremation
Ashes may be interred either in the ground or in our columbarium niche.
Monuments
Monuments only constructed of granite and marble will be allowed.

The cemetery grounds are well maintained by our professional staff throughout the year.
2024 Evans Cemetery Clean Up Weeks
April week of 29th - May 3rd
No cleaning on end of May because of Memorial Day.
June 24th -28th
July week of 29th-August 2nd
August 26th -30th
September 23rd- 27th
October 28th- November 1st
November 25th -29th clean up before Wreaths Across America.
